romney can give all of these voters an excuse to vote for him, right? >> yeah, we talked about this yesterday on the show. if he can go in -- that's why i worry about all this talk about zingers, just stylistically. don't be someone you're not. don't come in with canned jokes. be who you are, which is the line he delivered, i thought, well in his convention speech where he said, i can't heal the earth. i'm not going to part the seas, whatever he said. i just want to help you and your family. i'm not fancy, i'm not exciting. i want this job because i can do a better job healing the economy, not the earth, healing the economy than he has done for the last 3 1/2 years. if he can do that, be confident, don't try to be slick or funny, it's not who you are, just be mitt romney, he'll have a good night. >> i think he'll have a good night. i'll tell you this also, mark mckinnon. we're going to hear about the 47% from barack obama tonight. he'll bring that up. i also think mitt romney will bring this up in the debate. something that was spoken yesterday in charlotte, north carolina, by

. right? we know one way mr. romney may be trying to neutralize expected attacks on his economic ideas could be to rob his opponent's words of any meaning, right? now we also know after last night's debate is the other thing he's doing is just saying the economic plan he has been stumping for all year long is not his plan at all. mr. romney worked both those strategies last night and mr. romney, of course, won the debate, on style, on presentation, he won on demea r demeanor. now day two is the attempted cleanup for things he actually said. today has been a day of mr. romney's campaign saying he did not mean what he said about people with pre-existing conditions being able to get health insurance. his campaign said today he does not have a plan for that even though he said he did. the romney campaign today said he did not mean what he said about half the energy companies supported by the obama administration going bankrupt. he didn't actually mean that. sort of rolled over from democratic and liberal bewilderment last night that mr. romney was abandoning his main economic plan that he

? apparently not. chris christie is right about one thing though. mitt romney must accomplish a lot on wednesday night to begin to alter this race across the board. romney's team is loading him up with a bunch of zingers for the debate according to to "the new york times." romney has memorized these zingers and has been practicing them on aids since august. romney obviously did well enough in the primary debates to make it this far, no doubt. although most of his competition wasn't as tough as president obama. romney also had some memorable moments. >> i'll tell you what. $10,000 bet? >> i'm not in the betting business. >> the answer is self-deportation, which is people decide they can do better by going home because they can't find work here because they don't have legal departmentation to allow them to work here. >> i can't have illegals. rick, i'm speaking. i'm speaking. you get 30 seconds. this is the way the rules work here is i get 60 seconds. and then you get 30 seconds to respond, right? >> well, let's bring in democratic strategist chris ko kn kofinis and susan del percio.
